Ponies

I found this a long while ago and it took ages to find the details again for this lovely looking farm/ pony riding place called Ponies et Cie in Milhaguet.

Market in Piegut

Though all the little villages have a couple of stands selling local products every week, the best market by far can be found in Piegut every Wednesday morning. I recommend going early as it gets jam packed...

Lac de St Estephe

The lac de St Estephe close to Piegut has been majorly renovated. What that exactly means I have no idea but I reckon it will be worth checking out! Apparently they loan out free kajaks...

Repetto

Let's not forget the the Repetto factory is about one hours drive away.... don't take any small children as the roads are windy and accidents have occured!

Nontron Knives

The village of Nontron is world famous for its knives made out of box wood.

La Maison de la Porcelaine

The website is down at the moment but La Maison de la Porcelaine in Aixe sur Vienne is unavoidable for anyone visiting. Three huge basements filled with plain white porcelain in all shapes and sizes. What is the point of coming to Limoges if you don't leave with a bit of porcelain??

Wildlife Park

I have never been here, but I guess it will be a must see this summer.... Parc du Reynou

Centre equitation

My kids are still maybe a bit small for this, but maybe soon. Horse back riding in the Charente about 20 mins away.

Chateau de la Redortiere

The Chateau de la Redortiere is the best ferme auberge ever, all the food is produced on site...

Velo Rail

Bussiere Galant is about 30 mins drive from St Mathieu and doing the Velo-rail (a kind of bicycle on old train tracks) is hilarious (and hard work).

St Mathieu website

St Mathieu website with all the important information about the village, doctors, tourism, lake etc.

Adventure Parc at Massignac

Adventure Parc at Massignac I reckon it is worth trying this place out as it has a fun area for kids from 3 years onwards. Looks like fun for grown ups too....
